Maurice Merleau-Ponty
Phenomenology is the study of essences, so that all problems amount to finding definitions of essences. Starts at
facticity to arrive at understanding of things. The world is always already there before reflection as an inalienable
presence. It tries to reacheive a direct, primitive contact with the world and endow it with philosophical status.
Tries to make a philosophy of rigorous science and make an account of how we live the world, giving a direct description
of our experience. It is a matter of describing, not of explaining or analyzing.
