Philolaus
Wisdom is concerned with the well-ordered heavenly bodies, virtue with the products of disorderliness, the former being perfect and the latter imperfect. – Stobaeus, Anthology I xxii 1d
Certain thoughts and feelings – or else the actions based on such thoughts and reasonings – are not in our power; rather, as Philolaus said, some reasons are too strong for us. [B16] – Aristotle, Eudemian Ethics 1225a30-33
